A weekly look into the Division III Great Lakes Region men’s basketball season.

The regular season is over and conference tournaments are finally here. I sit down with Matt Snyder of Detroit Jock City (5:15) and we break down all 6 conference tournaments and which teams are safe this week or need to win to get in to the NCAA Tournament. In the Coach's Corner this week is legendary Wooster head coach Steve Moore (34:00). We talked about his young Fighting Scots who wrapped up a share of the NCAC Championship yesterday, previewed their road through the conference tournament, and his feelings on Wooster's bubble situation coming into this final week before the NCAA Tournament. All of this and more in another great hour of Great Lakes talk!

Can you believe we're down to the last week of the season? Still plenty to sort out in the Great Lakes as conference races are coming down to the wire. #3 Marietta put one hand on the OAC championship after knocking off #3 John Carroll who picked up their second straight loss. With one conference beginning to sort itself out the MIAA, HCAC, and NCAC races continue to be deadlocked with two games to go. Will any of those 6 teams blink as favorites this week? Joining me on the Coach's Corner this week out of the Heartland Conference is Anderson head coach Owen Handy (47:00). We went in depth into the talented young team he has and their journey through a wacky Heartland race this year. Coach Handy and I also discussed his journey from Hope crazed Holland, MI to Wheaton College and how the people along the way led him to the head coaching job at Anderson. With only two weeks left before selection Monday, I broke down regional rankings, teams to consider for Pool C status, updated RPI numbers (courtesy of Matt Snyder) and what they all mean for contending teams in the Great Lakes. All that and more in another 100 minutes of Great Lakes talk!

Two weeks remain in what's been another exciting regular season of Great Lakes Region basketball. Hope returned the favor to Alma Saturday night at DeVos creating a dead lock atop the MIAA standings. Marietta, Mount Union, and John Carroll continued to cruise toward their late season collisions beginning this week at Ban Johnson. Anderson continues their hot streak in the HCAC but everyone continues to look up in the standings at Mount St. Joseph. In the PAC and AMCC, it's business as usual as Penn State-Behrend and St. Vincent continue to count the days until their regular season championships. This week in the Coach's Corner segment OAC and John Carroll legendary head coach Mike Moran joins me (39:11) to discuss his Blue Streak's record setting undefeated start to the season. All of this and more in another great hour of Great Lakes talk!
