A weekly look into the Division III Great Lakes Region men’s basketball season.

A monster week of games is behind us and the standings have been shaken up. #5 Marietta won twice more including a big win over 2nd place Mount Union to take a two game lead on the rest of the field with 8 games to play. The back half of the standings continued to fight it out for seeds 5-8 in the OAC Tournament which is just 4 weeks away. Which teams have positioned themselves for a spot in the field of 8? I also sat down with Muskingum head coach Gene Ford (19:55) and Capital head coach Damon Goodwin (32:10) to talk about their squad's seasons thus far and their goals the rest of the way. We finish up with some Great Lakes talk and a preview of this week's action in another exciting edition of "This Week in the Ohio Athletic Conference."

The OAC conference season is nearly half over and the contenders and pretenders are beginning to shake themselves out. John Carroll and Mount Union played an important game on Saturday, which team would push ahead in the standings and keep pace with Marietta? Would the log jam in the bottom half of the standings begin to untangle? I also recapped the Great Lakes standings and look into which teams are in a position for Pool C at this point of the season. All of this and more in an abbreviated edition of "This Week in the Ohio Athletic Conference."
